Refund Policy

Overview
CastMate acts as a booking platform connecting anglers with fishery owners. Refund eligibility depends on the type of booking and the individual fishery's cancellation policy. This page sets out the general principles that apply across the platform.
Day ticket and session bookings
- Cancellations made 48+ hours before the session date — a full refund will be issued to your original payment method within 5–10 working days, minus any non-refundable platform fees.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session — refunds are at the discretion of the fishery owner. Some fisheries may offer a credit or rebooking rather than a cash refund.
- No-shows — no refund will be issued for sessions where the angler does not attend without prior cancellation.
To cancel a booking, go to My Dashboard → Upcoming Sessions → Cancel Session.
Add-ons (bait, tackle, equipment hire)
- Add-ons cancelled at the same time as a qualifying booking cancellation are refunded in full.
- Equipment hire cancelled within 24 hours of the session is non-refundable.
- Consumable add-ons (bait, groundbait) are non-refundable once the session date has passed.
Memberships and subscriptions
- Memberships can be cancelled at any time from your dashboard. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds for unused portions of a membership period are at the fishery owner's discretion.
- If a fishery closes permanently or cancels your membership without cause, you are entitled to a pro-rata refund for the remaining period. Contact us and we will facilitate this.
Fishery closures and exceptional circumstances
If a fishery closes unexpectedly (due to flooding, disease, or other circumstances beyond their control) and your booking cannot be fulfilled, we will work with the fishery owner to arrange a full refund or alternative booking. CastMate is not responsible for losses caused by circumstances outside our control.
How to request a refund
- For eligible cancellations, cancel your booking through the dashboard — the refund is issued automatically.
- For refund requests outside the automatic process, email enquiries@castmate.uk with your booking reference.
- We aim to respond within 2 working days and resolve refund requests within 10 working days.
