CastMate is a UK fishing platform operated by CastMate Ltd. We provide a fisheries directory, online booking system, catch record keeping and community features for UK anglers and fishery owners. References to “CastMate”, “we”, “us” or “our” in this policy refer to CastMate Ltd.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data — your email address and display name when you create an account.
  • Booking data — fishery, peg, date, ticket type and payment information when you make a booking.
  • Catch records — species, weight, date, location and photos you choose to log.
  • Forum and community content — posts, replies and reviews you submit.
  • Membership data — subscription plan, billing dates and payment status for fishery memberships.
  • Usage data — pages visited, search terms and general platform activity, collected via cookies.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and manage your CastMate account.
  • To process bookings and payments for fishing sessions.
  • To manage fishery memberships and subscription renewals.
  • To display your catch records and leaderboard position (only content you choose to make public).
  • To send booking confirmations, cancellation notices and membership reminders.
  • To moderate forum posts and reviews.
  • To improve the platform and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties or use it for advertising purposes.

4. Third-party services

We use the following trusted third-party services to operate CastMate:

  • Supabase — database and authentication. Your data is stored on servers within the EU. Supabase Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never stored by CastMate. Stripe Privacy Policy.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking records are kept for 7 years for accounting purposes. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal obligations).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
