Answers to common questions about CastMate.
Bookings
How do I book a peg?
Browse fisheries, select the one you want, choose a peg and ticket type, pick a date, and pay securely by card. You'll receive a confirmation email immediately after payment.
Can I book on behalf of someone else?
Bookings are tied to your account. If you're booking for a guest, you'll need to make the booking yourself and share the confirmation with them.
How far in advance can I book?
This varies by fishery — each fishery sets its own booking window. Check the fishery's page for availability.
Where do I find my bookings?
Log in and go to Dashboard → My bookings. All your upcoming and past bookings are listed there.
Cancellations & refunds
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. Go to Dashboard → My bookings → select the booking → Cancel. Whether you receive a refund depends on the fishery's cancellation policy, which is shown before you confirm.
How long does a refund take?
Refunds are processed immediately but can take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement depending on your bank.
What if the fishery cancels my booking?
If a fishery cancels your booking you will receive a full refund. Contact us at enquiries@castmate.uk if this happens and you need help.
Memberships
What is a fishery membership?
Some fisheries offer membership plans — a recurring subscription that gives you access to book without paying per session, or at a discounted rate. Memberships are managed per fishery.
How do I cancel a membership?
Go to Dashboard → My memberships → select the membership → Cancel. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Will I be charged automatically?
Yes — memberships renew automatically each month or year depending on the plan. You'll receive an email before renewal.
Account
How do I log in?
CastMate uses magic link login — enter your email address and we'll send you a link. No password needed.
How do I change my display name?
Go to your profile page (click your avatar in the top nav) and update your display name there.
